2021 BECE Results Reveals That Akufo Addo Is Collapsing Basic Schools
As a matter of fact and urgency, parents are seriously withdrawing their wards from public basic schools across the country, particularly Junior High School and Basic Schools, and enrolling them in private schools, believing that their wards will perform better after sitting for the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
A tour of some of the private JHSs revealed rising numbers of students, overcrowded classrooms, and students numbering 80 or more to a class for a single stream.
There are more than 250 students in form one alone in places where there are three streams, A, B, and C. It’s no surprise that Ghana ranked second in recent quality education rankings.
Surprisingly, the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results exposed the government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo.
To make matters worse, basic schools that are the foundation of our education pyramid has not received a single textbook after the Akufo Addo led administration wasted millions of cedis to change the curriculum two (2) years ago.
A change in curriculum means a change is textbooks and other teaching and learning materials but the Akufo Addo led administration has decided to tax the ordinary Ghanaian more while such funds are been wasted on luxurious private jets for needless travels.
The Akufo Addo-led administration has again scammed basic school teachers after a huge sum were deducted from their salary for almost a year ago.
The deduction was made on the grounds that, teachers at the basic schools will be provided with laptops to facilitate teaching and learning and also ease the burden on teachers in preparing outmoded lesson notes but as I pen this article, not a single laptops has been received by any basic school teachers across Ghana.
